About this class

The perfect sketchbook is an ellusive thing, which is why the ability to make your own is a great skill to have. Many of you have made sketchbooks with me in this past, and this is your opportunity for a refresher! The session, from 1:30-4:30, includes a coptic bookbinding tutorial and step-by-step guidance. You're welcome to take part or experiment with other forms of bookmaking during this time. This is a great opportunity to create a book to your preferred speck and design! It is also intended as a prerunner for next month's travel journal refresher, when you can put your new book into action ahead of any summer trips. It is part of my monthly drop-in sketchbook course throughout 2024. Sessions will be on the Second Friday of the month and can be booked individually or as a package of 3 to mix and match when it suits you! Please note: NOT ALL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED FOR THIS SESSION - While I always strive to provide materials, in order for this session to fit into the catch-up courses and include making your own customised sketchbook, you will need to choose and bring some of the materials yourself. What you need to bring: - 2 sheets of A1, or close to A1 paper of your choice, about 180gsm (you can buy this from the art shop on site with a 5% discount for all students of this class, the staff at the shop can help you chose. This can be watercolour paper cartridge, or any other type of your choosing). - 2 A6 book boards, decorated/covered as preferred. (Usually I use mount-board or recycled book covers of the correct size). Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your booking, please get in touch as soon as possible. Full refunds are available if you cancel within 5 days of the class. Cancellations after this point, for example if you are unwell on the day, are not refundable but you may be offered a place on an alternative class.
