NEWS & INFO

OCTOBER 2024

On the 22nd September, I made Jam while the rain poured outside and I welcomed the equinox. It felt a little like witchcraft, stirring the bubbling cauldron (jam-pan) and standing on the precipice of my return to Cambridge. It is sometimes all to easy to see why people have given such respect to these rituals and celebrations for centuries. I can feel the close of summer and the greeting of Autumn like a pull deep in my being; I'm ready to meet it.

The jam had a good set. I adorned it with a lino-print label, made earlier in the year during a Jam Label workshop (see blog post here) and caught the train to London and then Cambridge on the 24th Sept. I will be continuing my experiments with Gouche, print and other mixed media to make a children's narrative this term. While I do this, I'm winding down my workshops to just a few key sessions, and private classes.

I'm reading Deamon Voices, by Phillip Pullman

I'm eating hearty stews, snacking on jam with peanut butter on fresh bread.

I'm painting secret things.
